LiDAR Terrain Visualization: Baker Beach, Salt Spring Island

Airborne LiDAR captures the earth's surface with a high level of detail. This 3D pan of Baker Beach on Salt Spring Island is rendered with a 2x vertical exaggeration, which brings out features that would otherwise be subtle in a flat map. Overlaid are the drainage channels, mature forest canopy structure, and steep slopes down to the shoreline.

This pan was drawn from part of a larger product done for a client to better help understand the topography, hydrology, and erosion at play in this area.
